Montague Island is located approximately 12km offshore from Narooma. The island is a popular spot for wildlife lovers, as it’s home to a large colony of little penguins. You can also see other native animals such as Australian fur seals and dolphins. Montague Island Lighthouse was built in 1881 and automated in 1993. The lighthouse is open to the public for tours, which run daily.

Tours of Montague Island Lighthouse depart from Narooma town wharf – please check our tour times or contact for departure times. Some tours include a visit to the lighthouse keeper’s cottage, where you can learn about the history of the lighthouse. You’ll also get to enjoy stunning views of the coast from the top of the lighthouse.
